Responsible Jewellery Council Certification

The RJC is the world’s leading standard setting organization for the jewellery and watch industry. It was founded in 2005. The RJC Code of practices (COP) is the global standard for the responsible jewellery and watch industry, focusing on business ethics and responsible supply chains. RJC COP covers all the primary minerals and metals used in the manufacturer of jewellerey: gold silver, platinum group metals, diamonds and colored gemstones.

Jwellery plays a special role in people’s lives, carrying personal and professional and emotional significance. RJC is a member organization, bringing together companies of all shapes and sizes, from right across the global jewellery supply chain.

RJC beliefs that responsible business is good business, without good causing harm to people or the planet. This is a process of continuous improvement. And their belief that this can only be achieved by working together, and in partnership with others. In doing so, we are enhancing trust in global jewellery industry and underpinning its future, so people continue to hold jewellery close to their hearts for centuries to come. RJC is a platform for catalyzing change through the supply chains of our members, and provide a forum for sharing perspectives, exchanging ideas and finding solutions to shared challenges. Through the implementation of the COP, RJC work to ensure the responsibility standards are upheld right across the global jewellery supply chain. Their objective is to work in partnership to ensure our industry’s standards are maintained, and to help create a responsible and sustainable, word-wide jewellery supply chain.

RJC also have an important role to play as the voice for the industry on its most critical environmental, Social and Government (ESG) issues, helping to accelerate collective progress towards the sustainable development goals.
